So Who Are We?
Sound Festival 2024 is UK's First all Northern music festival with two main goals:​
Our First is to Champion Northern Voices and artists in the music industry and push them once again to the forefront of the industry. From The Beatles to Oasis, The Stone Roses to Brain Johnson, the north of England has an incredibly rich history in creating all genres of music. However, in the last decade or two Northern musicians have been severely under looked at the top of the Industry and we are aiming to change that. We want to be a catalyst for the revival of northern music and it couldn't have come at a better time.
Our festival comes at a Perfect time with the EMI north subsidiary has been opened in Leeds and an agreement to inject £2.3 million into the creative industries in West Yorkshire. Sound Festival will be a hub of progress and tackle a crucial issue in the music industry of today.
Our Second Goal hits very close to home for all of us at Sound Festival and is something we feel we have to power to change but we need your help.

In 2020 MAM Energy Solutions proposed a plan to use our site, Mirrlees Fields, as the plot for a new housing estate and ever since there has been an on going battle to protect Mirrlees Field. This is field is not only the home of Sound Festival 2024 but is used by locals as a sports field, recreational area and community hub whilst also supporting wildlife in an area that already lacks open environmental spaces. The fields also have a rich history of supporting dairy farming as well as it being used as a testing area during the first world war. Mirrlees field is very close to all of our hearts here at Sound Festival and we want to use our platform for one last push in the fight to Protect our field.
As of January 2024 an appeal was lost and the building of new houses on Mirrlees fields is set to go ahead but we believe we can continue the 4 year fight and make Mirrlees the home of Sound Festival for the foreseeable future.

50% of all ticket sales will go towards helping the fight and donation stations will be available around the site.
